mychai's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A short political statement... "Oh, I was thinking about leaving for St. Louis around seven o'clock tomorrow morning." The look I got in return from my recruiter showed me how seriously wrong I was. I have to go back to MEPS tomorrow for the sole purpose of peeing in a cup. What will take me less than a minute to accomplish will cost me a 4-hour round trip. The worst part? I have to leave here at 2:00 in the f'n MORNING. So, forgive me if I am not pro-military at the moment. Damn penis. Why couldn't you just pee in the pretty little cup a week ago and get this thing over with? That would have been SOOOOO much easier. But nope! You just HAD to close up tighter than a Southern Baptist on prom night. No offense to Southern Baptists, of course. But really..... I may consider going shopping a bit tomorrow since I don't have anything else to do all day. I need some shorts. My other ones got way too baggy when I started to lose weight. When I wear them, I look like In other words, my crotch hangs down below my knees. If you read only one sentence in my whole diary, read that last one. So, forgive me if today's entry is not too great or long. It is 20-till eleven, and I am not even tired yet. Tomorrow is going to be a terribly long day. Maybe I will bring my backpack stuffed with t-shirts, a nice book, and lay out under the St. Louis arch and take a nap. If I return with a sunburn, save for one long stripe across my body, you will know where I have been. Speaking of nice books... I finally broke down and bought "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz." I know it is a children's book, but it is a classic! And it isn't all that bad. I am tempted to buy more books out of the series. At last count, there are 40 Oz books in the whole series, with six of them written by L. Frank Baum. "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" is incredibly political to be a children's book. And most of the stuff he wrote would not at all be allowed in children's books today. You know... It's a total shame what the liberal, politically-correct scumbags have done to literature. Or, more generally, art as a whole. Would Mark Twain's genius have been noticed had he lived in today's world? Would the Bible be published if it was written this year? When I read good literature from yester-year, I get frustrated at how idiotic today's world has become simply because the most sensitive people are the loudest heard. And it is nearly against the law now to dislike someone. I said it before, and I will say it again. I get the impression that this is not exactly how our forefathers envisioned their free republic. And, as Jesse Ventura said (love 'em or hate 'em, he *does* have a point), "There is nothing more dangerous than a liberal with a cause." I'm not a hard-nosed conservative in the least sense. But damn... I just get annoyed sometimes. And finally... The reason I didn't update Monday or Tuesday night was because, to my surprise, my cable company does not combine my cable television and cable modem bills. So, my cable bill sat stagnant for a few months. For you Spanish folks: El modemo got turned offo. But the bill is paid. And I am back, full speed ahead. 10:11 p.m. - Wed., June 19, 2002 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
